Tick Tock

It seems the clock is ticking quite fast which leaves little time to be sure everything is set before we leave. A short warming trend today allowed us to get out and clear the accumulation of snow from the end of the drive so we can get the motorhome out when it's time. Don't you just love the folks who drive the plows. They wait till you finish moving snow and are too tired to do anything else then they come around the corner and plow as much back in the drive as they can.

Called Keegan today to wish him a happy birthday. Thirteen already, my how those years do fly by. Of course tomorrow is Christmas and getting together with the whole family presents another chance to call Keegan and Heather.

Speaking of Heather, she sent us an email to announce that she and Steve will be getting married sometime soon. An email? I expected at least a phone call, but like she said it was the easiest way to let everyone know at once. The date has not been set and it will be small cheap ceremony in Las Vegas, according to her. Just as long as she waits till after the winter is over and we manage to get back home.

Marsha finally retired. Due to a snow storm it was a day later than planned. Now I need to teach her how to slow down.

Preperations are Underway

Christmas 2008 is just around the corner and everything is set for the usual family get together. This will probably be the last with the whole family together as we prepare to hit the road each year long before Thanksgiving.

Our daughter Heather is living in Montana so a trip out there in the summer to see her and our grandson Keegan is in the planning stages.

Our youngest daughter Jennifer and her husband Rick have just purchased their first home, and along with grandson Ricky will be moving in soon. It is a beautiful newer house on about 3 and a half acres in the county near Three Rivers. Congratulations Kids, may you live many happy years in your new home.

Once the new year rolls around and we get enough snow to melt in the driveway so we can get the motorhome out we will be on our way. We plan to take a leisuly drive once we get far enough south to be out of the bone chilling cold. Stops in Gulf Shores Alabama, Pensacola, Florida, Mobile Alabama and New Orleans, LA will occupy our time till we reach San Antonio and the hill county of Texas. We will spend a couple of months exploring Texas and then heading for Branson, MO in the spring.

We invite all our family and friends to "join" us on our trip by following our adventures here on this blog. We plan on lots of pictures and of course tales of all we see along the way. Our adventure is about to begin so stay tuned.
